Are you a recent (or soon-to-be) HR graduate? If so, this role might be for you!
We are open to applications from recent grads, or even students looking for a casual or part time role, with a view to transitioning into a permanent full-time position after graduation.
The Practice
ASPECT Studios is a purpose-oriented landscape architecture and urban design practice. With operations across Australia, Asia, UK and the Middle East, our studios believe in the power of regenerative design to positively change people’s behaviour and lives, the environment, and the planet.
The Team
The People & Capability team form part of the global Executive Group (think Finance, Marketing, IT, Commercial and our global Executive leaders). Based out of Melbourne, you’ll find most of the team in the laneway heart of the CBD. With the Melbourne design studio only a 5-minute walk away, you’re never far from our creative hub, public transport and good coffee!
People & Capability provide support and advice to studio leaders across the world – we primarily interface with local managers who then operationalise ASPECT’s broader people and talent strategy. We care about the experience of our team members, our leaders, and talent candidates, and seek to influence outcomes with a positive, engaging approach.
The Role
Working closely with our Director of Capability and P&C Business Partner, this position will support end-to-end employee life-cycle activities for all our design studios. For anyone looking for broad insight into the many facets of human resources, both in an Australian and international context, this is it!
Key aspects of the role include:
- P&C team coordination, including tracking and coordinating our HR calendar of activities.
- Maintaining our HRIS / ATS – data entry, tracking critical dates, onboarding/offboarding.
- Supporting with recruitment and onboarding
- Administering ASPECT’s global benefits programs and other cyclical P&C initiatives such as annual engagement surveys, performance reviews, external audits, and more.
- Reporting and people data analysis.
- Assisting in development and review of our policies, procedures, and internal resources.
- Research – we’re always on the lookout for new legislation, changing best practice and the latest in industry news and trends.
As we collaborate with teams across five global regions, our team works flexibly to accommodate different time zones when necessary. ASPECT recognises the importance of sustainable hours and a healthy work-life balance, so flex (including working from home), is a key feature of the way our team works.
About You
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent HR graduate or a student looking to graduate in the coming 3 – 6 months. Exposure to professional services or administrative roles is desired, such as experience in reception or office-based customer service roles. Prior human resources experience is great, not critical – if you’re keen to learn, we can teach you!
Our ideal team member will be curious, unafraid to ask questions and seek to understand. You’ll be insights-driven and able to connect the dots, recognising there are many sides to a story. You will play a critical role in keeping things moving and progressing within the team, so an ability to maintain a detailed bird’s-eye view of what’s going on across the practice will be critical to success. Time management and tracking deadlines will be your strength.
You’ll also be:
- Good with numbers and enjoy working with detailed data and reports (or keen to learn).
- A strong communicator, able to build rapport easily and confidently.
- Organised – you believe it’s important to do what you say you will
- Comfortable navigating complex or conflicting priorities, and approach sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and tact.
- Collaborative - you recognise that we will generate better outcomes working together, rather than going it alone.
- Warm, positive and enthusiastic – we take pride in our work and operate to a high standard, but we like to have fun while doing it.
If the above describes you, we want to hear from you.
This is the perfect role for someone who is eager to learn or transition into generalist HR. No two days are the same, and in this role, you’ll gain exposure to the workings of an international design firm, along with opportunities to coordinate and lead your own projects and access mentorship and coaching from experienced HR practitioners.
If you love what ASPECT does and think you’d like to be a part of our People team, reach out and apply!
