The Melbourne studio sits within the heart of the Melbourne CBD, surrounded by the active life of the city, laneway culture and great transport links. Our studio is in a tall modernist building, with light on three sides, lots of greenery within and great views over Melbourne central laneway precinct.

The Role
This is a 12-month Parental Leave contract opportunity for an experienced senior designer and project lead to join a well-established team and contribute to a variety of exciting high-profile projects whilst developing their professional practice alongside industry leading designers and mentors.
You will play a key role in the leadership of projects, delivering innovative and fresh design outcomes whilst leading project teams and shaping a lasting studio culture.
- Run projects and teams confidently, with strong foundational knowledge of best practice project management;
- Coordinate consultants, manage client relationships, and mentor others in the process;
- Bring a deep understanding of project life-cycles across a diverse range of scales and typologies – you’ll be confident managing projects from concept design all the way through to construction;
- Contribute to project design strategy;
- Supervise early career designers, ensuring design quality as they grow their skills;
- Prepare high quality documentation and confidently present to external client groups; and
- Drive regenerative design outcomes in all that we do.
About You
Successful candidates will be design-focused with experience in a range of project typologies and scale. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to an exciting range of projects as part of a supportive team environment. We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and qualities:
- Minimum 6+ years’ experience in delivering landscape projects of varying scale from concept through to detailed design;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to engage at all level, internally and externally
- Passionate about design innovation and the world around us
- Proactive, a good team player, and thrive on collaboration within an open workplace culture
- Strong design and hand drawing skills, and fast-paced three-dimensional exploration
- Lumion, VRay, Grasshopper and AutoCAD are all highly desirable.
- Degree qualification(s) in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Design
- Current Australian working rights (visa holders must have a minimum of 2 years working rights).
